AMS Neve has recently unveiled an impressive new demo studio at its Lancashire, UK Headquarters. The fully-fledged recording studio is complete with a 3.5 meter square control room, a live room and a vocal booth.<\/p>\n
The studio is equipped with a fully-loaded Genesys Black G32<\/a> console, however there is also scope to bring in a\u00a0BCM10\/2 Mk2<\/a>console for customers to demo it in a fully working studio environment. There are also several 500-series modules<\/a>\u00a0racked and ready for use, as well as a 33609N stereo limiter\/compressor<\/a>, plus any number of Neve outboard units can be installed and patched into the console as required. A full range of analogue and digital I\/O is also available and the room is fully networked too, so that multi-channel audio can easily be sent to\/from other rooms in the building.<\/p>\n \u201cA few years ago we opened our large Showroom floor to showcase our products and at that point it became clear that we also needed an environment where equipment could be used as intended,\u201d says Distribution Manager, David Walton. \u201cWe decided to refurbish what had been a demo room for the AMS AudioFile from the ground up, creating a control room that is acoustically designed to be \u2018flat\u2019 so any particular sound is presented as intended without additional influence \u2013 the entire frequency range \u2018pops\u2019 right at you in there.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cWe\u2019re not planning on using it as a commercial venture but it is so highly specified, you never know,\u201d he says. \u201cThe room looks and sounds absolutely incredible.\u201d<\/p>\n To complement the space and give the studio a truly professional feel,\u00a0PMC MB3 XBDA<\/a> monitors have been installed; chosen for their clarity, detail and power.<\/p>\n \u201cThe primary purpose of this new facility is to demonstrate our consoles and their features at any level of detail, within a top-tier studio environment,\u201d Walton adds. \u201cWe needed monitors that made a statement to go along with the AMS Neve equipment in the room. We have several sets of PMC monitors<\/a> installed in our large showroom (and have used them during many exhibitions and demonstrations) and we are very happy with them, but the visual statement the MB3 XBD\u2019s<\/a> make in the studio is one of sheer power. Then you listen to them and you realise just how fantastic they sound with jaw-dropping performance. Plus, they are made in Britain, which is something we are very proud to promote about AMS Neve equipment.\u201d<\/p>\n
